Who is Liyah?
Liyah is an 18 year old independent contemporary R&B singer from South London’s Croydon. A recent alumni of The BRIT School where she studied Music. She has recently done an acoustic session called ‘In the session’ with Natasha Watts on BBC Radio (Berkshire), as well as taking part in 'Britains Got Barz' on Pulse88 FM, Apple Store (Regent Street), Hootenanny, Box Park Croydon and Shoreditch, Catford Broadway Theatre, Stanley Halls, RBE, also Liyah has song for Jessie Ware (one of Liyah’s idols) - at The Brit School which was filmed and put on the BRIT awards Youtube Channel. Her late uncle Earl Lindo ‘Wya’ who was the original member of 'Bob Marley and the Wailers' also helped to nurture her interest in music by teaching her to play Guitar and piano and fundamentally helped her with song writing skills, Liyah has also song with her late uncle ‘Earl Wya Lindo (original Wailer) at the Abeng. Liyah supports charities throughout England and has sung for XPRESS Night who supports females throughout the world. Liyah supports charities that also work with Mental Health Awareness and she has been the face of Barnardos spreading the word of love and wellbeing.
Apart from writing and singing contemporary R&B songs, Liyah also writes and sings indie music which highly features on her Album 'Souls Of September'
Liyah also released a song called J’Adore, which is being played in retail shops such as Accessorize, Folli Follie, Gorgeous Kitchen, Jigsaw, Links Of London and Carphone Warehouse. Liyah’s song J’Adore had over 20,000 streams within a week.
